Bat in the Pond

Strange but true story of the flying non-avian kind :

We were visiting Fyne Court in the Quantocks (North Somerset, UK) and saw this bat fly over a fishing pond in broad daylight just after 4pm – strange enough, but then it fell in the water; did it accidentally catch its wing in the water hunting for insects close to the surface ?

Whatever the case, it managed to drag itself out – when we left it, it was resting at the edge of the pond, possibly trying to dry out before it could try and find a tree to take off from.

Place: Fyne Court, North Somerset
Date: 7 August 2015.
